The 111kmpl Volkswagen XL1
After working on the idea for over a decade, Volkswagen has revealed the near-production version of the XL1, a two-seat, plug-in diesel hybrid designed to be the world's most energy-efficient automobile. VW estimates the XL1 can get up to 111 kilometre per litre — although with a time to 100 kmph of 12.7 seconds, it won't get there quickly.

Indian Air Force flexes its muscle
The IAF on 22 February 2013 displayed its firepower at the "Iron Fist" exercise at Rajasthan's Pokhran ranges with a potent show of the strength of its frontline aircraft. The firepower demonstration saw a display by Sukhoi 30 MK1 fighters and striking manoeuvres by the indigenously-produced light combat aircraft and helicopters. The "day-dusk-night" firepower display also saw aircraft using laser-guided bombs and precision rockets to hit "enemy targets".
